The Pilates equipment may seem intimidating at first glance, but once you experience all they have to offer they will become your best friends.
In some situations the equipment provides support and lessens the load. This allows you to access smaller, deeper, and often weaker muscle groups. Added support also allows you to safely explore your limits and increase your range of movement. In other situations the equipment simply provides resistance to build strength.
In all cases, the spring tension requires your muscles to work when contracting as well as when lengthening. This builds long, lean muscle tone and develops a functional strength that can be integrated into any activity.
The benefits of Pilates are meant to bring a uniform development to the body so that articulation, breath and circulation can exist in their fullest potential.
